I am the same way Shell. If there is one character flaw/disorder I cannot STAND about people and human nature it is this:
EFFIN LIP-SERVICE with little to no action or actual doing.
And that flaw, disorder today is running rampant in our country. 😠

Most of the time, I’m a follower but it greatly depends on who the leader is. (As in the current political situation, I am definitely NOT a follower!!)
However, there have been occasions when I’ve stepped into a leadership role. Less so, however, as I’ve aged (takes too much work to lead 😉).

Heh, it’s just the way I am Mak. I can’t just stand around when there’s work needing done. That one guy on the road crew actually doing the work, instead of standing around holding a shovel, that’s me.
