Oh Joe.

Yes, Joe Biden is old. He looked old, he sounded old, he struggled to find words. He’s old.

The orange idiot, all he could do was lie his ass off about everything, and show what an asshole he really is. You know how you could tell he was lying? It happens every time he opens his mouth.

When it comes right down to it, I’ll vote for an old guy, before I vote for another old guy, who also grabs pusssies, is a felon, a sexual assaulter, a classified document thief, a wanna be dictator who sucks up to and admires actual dictators, a habitual and compulsive liar, a Proud Boy/ KKK lover, the architect of overturning Roe, an insurrectionist, and a man so caught up in himself he creates his own reality, and no one in his orbit can say that the emporer has no clothes.

EVERY TIME.

I don’t care if they have to stuff Joe with straw, put a little American flag in his hand, and parade him around in a wheelchair, I’m voting for Joe.

Do I wish we had better candidates? Yes. Is there anything I can do to change it? No.

Our choice, is vote for an old guy, or another orange old guy who is a walking, talking, lying sack of shit. But here’s the thing, I suspect voter apathy will rear its head because of our lack of good choices, and if it does, that orange bastard actually has a good chance to win. If that doesn’t scare the shit out of you, you haven’t been paying attention.

    • I’m confident Joe has a good team behind him, working behind the scenes, and making critical decisions easier for him. Plus Joe might be old, he might be slow, but he ain’t stupid.

I have already seen the kind of people the orange asshole surrounds himself with. I do wonder who the next batch of indicted/imprisioned jackasses might be, if it comes to that. Please Jeebus do not let it come to that.

  2. I fear this “good team” is going to motivate just enough centrist voters to return Trump to the White House because this “good Team” is the ONLY fuel the Republicans have to work with. And it is not insignificant.

So which of the non elected “team” I wonder is actually calling the shots? I suspect it’s Jill. It would explain the constant caving to and patience with the extreme and radical left wing policies that keep the Republicans knocking at the door to power. She fits the profile perfectly.

But what a shame to have such an incredibly poor choice of candidates: the criminal or the demented.

I hope you are wrong about those radical lefties, who I suppose want something done about our carbon footprint, clean air, clean water, fair pay, health insurance, and food on the table, turning the centrists towards that orange idiot.

FWIW I am a centrist. I’d never vote for that orange maroon.

      • I don’t like illiberals of any political stripe. They are an ever present danger to OUR individual rights and freedoms. Such extremists are always illiberal no matter what linguistic tricks they deploy to try to present themselves as something else, like pretending anyone who criticizes the ‘home’ team must be a supporter of the ‘other’ team. And Biden’s administration has all kinds of illiberal policies desperately in need of criticism. The tactic is recognizable, Shell. It is the same tactic used by religious believers to avoid justified criticism of their batshit crazy beliefs by smearing: “You must really hate God to be an atheist.” See how this works?

The latest is the trans admiral appointed to Health BY the Biden admin ordering WPATH to remove age restrictions (without ANY evidence-based reason) from SOC8 ‘ethical’ guidelines justifying batshit crazy and experimental gender ‘medicine’ on children. This is pure illiberal activism under Biden’s watch hard at work.

If you think pissing off and directly undermining thousands of very concerned and deeply angry parents – and those who support them – whose kids are being hurt doesn’t direct a significant cohort of parents into the Trump column when there are only two options available, you need a rethink of how far down the rabbit hole you have gone.

All you have to do to get better is change the freaking channel.

I’m letting this stand, any more long winded tirades against the radical left, trans, or whatever else right wing idiot smoke blown up your butt results in, will be deleted.

          • Sorry Shell. I won’t comment again. But the take-away point is that there are very good reasons for people to NOT vote for Biden. Until the Dems take these reasons seriously, the partisan divide is going to keep getting wider, the country more dysfunctional, the greater the risk for someone like Trump to be given political power and tear the whole thing down. This is the problem Dems and Biden do control but are failing spectacularly at addressing it. They just keep doubling down. It has absolutely nothing to do with Faux News but the ongoing failure to address it yields huge rewards empowering Republicans. The Dems need to clean house of all illiberalism or the voters will do it for them.

            • As best I understand it, the illiberalism you speak of, comes from the far right. Not the far left. A liberal democracy tries to protect individual rights, and freedoms.

The Dems have plenty of problems, but that ain’t it.

It’s the right putting the bible in schools, taking away womens rights, making it harder for people of color to vote, they have crafted a culture war on immigrants, gays, trans, and the far right infestation rises all the way to SCOTUS, and if the orange bastard orangatan gets it again, to POTUS.

The only thing the left wants is personal freedoms, to be who they are, or even who they think they are. They want religion out of politics. They want healthcare, social security, voting rights, They want the things a healthy democracy should have.

It is the right that fights against these things. Not the left.

I fear your right wing biases are showing. Since I’m leaning towards being a lefty, I’m alright with that. Be who you want to be Tildeb, but don’t be pissing in my Cheerios and be telling me its milk.

          • Thank you ShellDigger. Tildeb is a well know anti trans anti liberal activist who simply hates changes in society over the last 30 years. I have had my own run ins with him. He is totally intolerant and loves to blame others. Facts don’t seem to mean much to him.

Love the post by the way. I also plan to vote for Joe. He may be a grandfather, but in my childhood while my adoptive family banned me from even having school books, my grandfather would pick me up every Friday, take me to their home where I was abuse free. He grew up using teams of horses to log, went home, did his own farm chores, went back out and logged more, and then in the evening did his own farm chores again. He also showed me an appreciation of education and love of science as he and I would sit together watching the space shuttle. He would marvel over it, while at home I took a beating for trying to watch a show called Star Trek. I remember my Grandfather telling me the future was in science, in the stars, in new discoveries and to not be afraid of that. He was in his 70s then.

Joe Biden reminds me a lot of him. He may not walk as steady or as fast, he may speak slow, but what he says is damn well worth listening to. Hugs. Scottie

I think Jill is the most powerful person in Biden’s life and probably the most influential. And the profile I’m talking about is the likelihood of support for various ‘progressive’ policies, which aligns very well with less religious highly educated older urban females. Jill fits the profile, the policies fit the profile.

  6. To Scottie,

“In future years the suppression of scientific research on gender medicine in America will be seen as a scandal. And besides unforeseen damage to people’s lives, we can expect a spate of lawsuits.

Both WPATH and the Biden Administration bear the blame for the latest series of missteps.  In its efforts to placate the progressive Left (something I didn’t predict when Biden was elected), the Biden Administration has badly mishandled issues of sex and gender.”

Those are not my words nor the words of some “well known anti trans liberal activist who simply hates changes in society over the past 30 years.” Nor is it from someone who is “totally intolerant and loves to blame others.” So your (apparently) perfectly acceptable smearing of me does not address the identical complaint I have raised here that Biden’s White House has contributed greatly to its own demise by kowtowing to the highly activist and extreme left wing of the Democrats….

The quotation is from Jerry Coyne today in a post that addresses the use by the Democrats currently in power of regular anti-science, anti-fact activism for a ‘progressive’ social narrative cause. My commenting here is aimed at offering simply one current example of how to turn centrist voters into voting Republican that has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with Trump but EVERYTHING to do with feeling betrayed by and deeply angry with Biden. What I’m saying is that that’s the fuel Republican are making hay with among normal centrist voters that I think needs to be cut off if a Trump victory is to be avoided. And the only ones that can do this cutting off has to be from grassroot Democrats. My advice/solution to stop Trump regaining the White House is to stop doubling down on batshit crazy policies that serve to (temporarily) please extreme reality-denying activists and get back to winning over centrist voters with only unifying policies to address common concerns. In my humble opinion, advocating for cutting off body parts of self-diagnosed children is not a very good way of attracting parents to vote Democrat but an excellent way to turn them away.

    • If you are quoting Coyne, you are as out of touch on sex/gender as he is. I don’t even read his blog anymore because of his asshole-ery.

Reality denying activists, anti fact activism, radical lefty’s, monsters under the bed, I think you left out murdering immigrants living in fancy hotels and Biden causes inflation. Jeebus man, you are full of it. You sound like a Faux News anchor spinning reality into factless bullshit for the morons that love it by the bucketfull.

If it weren’t for progressives we’d still be living in the dark ages.

Frankly I don’t get the hoo ha surrounding gays/trans. Maybe you haven’t noticed, but they have been around since forever. It has always been thus. Gays exist, they do what comes natural. So what? How does that affect your daily comings and goings? How are your rights being infringed upon because they exist?

In case you didn’t know, no two persons are wired up exactly the same when it comes to brain function, and also in regard to the chemicals in our brains that determine who the hell we are. There are imbalances. Too much of this, too little of that, and bam, you have a person whos sexual identity does not align with their birth gender. I suspect this has also, always been the case. These people have been hiding in plain sight all along. (EDIT!)(This next sentence was in my head as I was writing this comment, and it didn’t get written, I’m amending it now.) Only now is there the tech to change a persons gender to match what they are feeling in their bodies, or Transition if you will. (End Edit.) Only now, they are more free to speak up. To examine their identity crisis, and maybe try to live according to what their body, not yours, is making them think and feel.

Who the fuck is ANYONE, that has a right to question that? How is that any of your fucking business? How does this persons existence affect your daily comings and goings? How are your right being infringed upon because they exist?

It’s the fanatical right wing x-ian fascists, who take issue with it, because they are fucking dickheads. Politicians, who are devious enough to know how to play the room, take advantage of that. Plain and simple, and frankly pretty obvious. Many of those politicians are also fanatical right wing x-ian fascists, and dickheads to boot. So they are just Jim Dandy playing the game.

I’m quickly losing any respect I had for one called Tildeb. It appears he is also playing the same game. Attack and demonize anyone who isn’t the right color, or gender to suit you.

There is nothing wrong with progressives. Regressive ass wipes with a babble in their pocket are the problem. Always have been.

  7. You know, Shell, I was and remain a proponent of good reasoning and so once upon a time I spoke out against faith-based beliefs. Quite a few of us did that because I think we could see how believing and then acting on those beliefs as if true when they weren’t caused harm. Preventable harm. And on a massive scale. Many of us could understand how poor reasoning and a rejection of evidence-based reasoning led believers into rabbit holes of convoluted thinking while supporting actions based on faith-based beliefs were also very divisive and intrusive and in some cases anti-human. Socially malignant. All in the name of supporting some faith-based belief. So many of us criticized this kind of thinking and condemned their results. And I think rightly so. That’s what the atheist community used to do.

I find it really interesting yet sad that the same clear thinking reasoning is now roundly condemned by many of the same atheists because the OBJECT of that belief has changed! The only difference is the object; rather than some god, the object of belief has been changed to, say, race or gender or heritage as if these were meaningful and descriptive identity traits. (progress happened when King articulated to be judged NOT on the colour of one’s skin but the quality of character. We have REGRESSED where now it is back to being meaningful and descriptive). And, what should be very disturbing is that many of these atheists have flipped into becoming the new clerics busy supporting a social narrative based on belief that rejects compelling contrary evidence as if blasphemy, while vilifying critics as morally corrupt. Sound familiar? It should. This is how believers categorized non believers. And many still do!

    Look what you’re doing.

I have done my best to use exactly the same reasoning to evaluate all kinds of narratives and the negative effects that follow when faith-based beliefs surface to guide actions. This latest one has no one (acceptable) name but comes in many guises that I lump together as ‘identity’ and appears using liberal terms like tolerance and diversity and inclusion in order to sound progressive. But in every case, the underlying narrative is a faith-based ideology… a belief that groups based on these attributes are real things constituted not by individuals but by shared constructed identities that emerge from them. The belief is that these real groups compete for real power in the social hierarchy creating real group victims and real group victimizers. People who believe this claim that identity is real also tend to see themselves as progressive when the actions taken on behalf of these beliefs are highly regressive in effect (a claim I make with all kinds of compelling evidence-based reasons). That’s why I put the term into scare quotes… because it doesn’t mean what the term itself means but its opposite. Today’s ‘progressive’ beliefs are highly regressive in effect.

Try an experiment: define the term ‘gender’ without using sex as a surrogate.

Now explain how any kind of chemical intervention and surgery can address changes to gender.

Believing in gender as if it were a real thing that can be physically affected by drugs or surgery is a faith-based belief.

I remain as atheist to any faith-based belief claim as I do any kind of claim about some god… and for exactly the same reasons.

Now, if you want to condemn me for remaining intellectually honest about why faith-based belief is a malignant tool to use to justify policies no matter what the object under consideration may be, then I think something has gone astray in your own thinking. The problem, however, is that this is a belief shared by many on the left and the right that is actively and intentionally destroying western liberal democracies in the same way that, say, Islam is keeping billions in religiously draped chains of unnecessary harm: to protect a faith-based belief. I think not saying something is contemptible.
