Quote Of The Month

You know I have not done one of these in like, forever, I wound up in a rabbit hole on the internet (ever had that problem?) and ran across this quote. It struck a chord with me and I thought I’d share it.

The source is Lao Tzu, early Chinese philosopher and suspected author of the Tao Te Ching.

The quote:

“Those who are intelligent are not ideologues. Those who are ideologues are not intelligent.”

Seems appropriate in todays political climate no?

How about a two-fer?

“Try to change it and you will ruin it. Try to hold it and you will lose it.”

How about a three-fer?

“Those who know do not say. Those who say do not know.”

How about a , oh nevermind!

“The more that laws and regulations are given prominence, the more thieves and robbers there will be.”

Y’all have a good day out there, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do πŸ™‚

  1. Hubby worked in (road) construction for 42 years. His favourite quote came from an old fella years ago who said, “How is it that I always end up either with those who want to do it but can’t or those who can do it but won’t?” πŸ™‚

You’ve left the door wide open with that last line of yours, I see!

    • Do not wear shorts with cowboy boots!

Do not drive in excess of 100 mph in a school zone!

Do not buy a 20 dollar parachute!

…well that was a pretty short list πŸ˜‰

      • By the time I drive at 100mph anywhere in this country, police will be waiting for me to extract money. Our max is 62mph! We are forced to be tortoises on the rode.
That parachute would come in handy if I am trying to off myself by jumping off a cliff

        • Our Interstate system is 70 mph. people tend to do up around 80.

Some nice state highways jump to 65 mph once well out of town. People generally do 70-75.

We are usually, but not always, alright with the coppers until we break the magical number of 10 mph over posted limit. With school zones being an obvious exception.

So, we aren’t confined to tortoise-ism usually, until we get caught behind some slow ass, oblivious dufus.

As per the parachute why bother with the 20 dollar expense? πŸ˜‰

          • Most road users on the highways know where the speed cops are likely to be so they cruise and only slow down in those zones. I think the idea of max speed limits on highways makes little sense to me.
If you don’t die you can always blame it on the parachute and could be defense you were not trying to off yourself
