The Bulbous Nosed Twit Finally Gets Something Right

Our great Governor of Tennessee, Mr 4.5′ tall Bill Haslam, vetoed the ignorant bill proposed by ignoramuses, which would have made the Holy Babble the state book of Tennessee.

Finally, after all of these years, a Goddamned Republican got something right.

Although he had to add some vapid stupidity, (It helps if you can visualize a nasal whining tone like that of a nerdy 13 year old when you read his quotes) : “my personal feeling is that this bill trivializes the Bible, which I believe is a sacred text. If we believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, then we shouldn’t be recognizing it only as a book of historical and economic significance.”

Oh no, of course not, we should be recognizing it for being a Magic Book! A big magic book of the most ass backwards shit I have ever read.

At least despite his religious leanings and/or pandering to his religious constituents, he was able to correctly determine the unconstitutionality (damn thats a long word) of the bill.

  3. Praise the Flying Spaghetti Monster! It is truly a miracle.

Actually the most likley scenario, after meeting with his advisors, Mr Twit realized that passing this bill would open a can of constitutional worms that would have reflected badly on him.

The bad news is, the Senate can still override the Gov’s veto. We will see what happens.

  4. Umm, more like 1816 in Tennessee. Yes, we are that far behind the times. Well most of them… I am at least caught up to the 1970’s. My musical interests are still to this day in the 70’s. So I am myself evidence of being behind the times. But Jeez! These people are fucking Quakers.

  6. I had to youtube it, but interesting tune. They had meshed the song with some historical imagery from the Titanic which was cool.

I kept waiting for a blistering guitar solo that never showed up though 🙂

One of these days I have got to post some of the music I have been part of. Nothing of great importance mind you, but just for a little bit of bragging rights… 😉

  7. I heard about it from NPR. It’s kind of surprising that Alabama hasn’t beaten y’all to the punch up there. We pride ourselves on legislating stupid things, passing them, and then spending money to lose in court.

Hell, we’re trying to impeach our governor for actually trying to do something (re)productive while in office.

Is Haslam not up for re-election or something?

  9. I cant understand why these politicians cannot stop trying to subvert the constitution they are supposed to be dedicated to uphold. It isn’t just Tn. and Ala., it is rampant. They are pushing religious agendas across the country and no one seems to be able to offer up a good defense against it.

Good luck with your impeachment 🙂

  10. A real miracle would be every Republican in the country realizing what asshats they are.

  11. IMO, it’s not that they’re trying to subvert the constitution, they just want to push their “holiness,” which THEY believe is what’s missing in this world. They take the FEW words in the constitution that reference any kind of “higher power” and twist it to sound like “God” wants what they want.

So glad I wasn’t born/raised in the Bible Belt!

  13. I’m sorry, I fail to see the difference. 🙂

Achieving their religious goals in politics, no matter how they view what they are doing, is still attempting to/ or is, subverting the constitution. Just because “they” are ok with it, does not make it ok with me!
